Our Intention

When we work with energy, we bring our intention into focus. If it is our intention that the energy be used for healing, relaxing, energizing, manifesting, or creating, then that is what will happen.

A time-worn axiom states that ‘as a man thinks, so is he’. I have found this to be true. Whatever we think will happen, usually does. Thoughts are ‘things’, energy that goes out into the ‘universe’ to bring us back the closest approximation of that which we desire. If it is our intention to change a part of ourselves, then that part will change over time. We need to remember that we didn’t ‘get this way’ overnight. By creating intentions, following up with a plan of action, and backing them up with your feelings, you can create the life of your dreams.

An experiment:

Flop back in your chair. Allow your body to just fall and flop with little or no tension holding you in your seat. This is easier done on a couch. Now, without moving a muscle, remember back to the last time you were angry and get those feelings going. C’mon now, get good and angry. You cannot, can you? When we get angry (irritated, outraged, annoyed and all of the other subtleties of this emotion), the first thing to happen is that our muscles tense. Chemicals are released by the brain and shot into our muscles in a flash. The muscles tense, and we are ready to fight, freeze, or flee, as the case warrants. When we tense our body, the chemicals sometimes become trapped in muscle fibre causing illness and pain. When we relax our body and flow outward, we release anything that may cause a problem down the road.

Try this:

Taking responsibility for your own emotional and physical wellness, close your eyes and think about the worst thing (or the second worst thing if you thing the worst thing will put you over the edge) that happened to you. Get those feelings going and come up with a one-word phrase that would best describe what you are going through in your mind. _____________ Ok, shake it off.

Now, again taking responsibility for your own emotional and physical wellness, close your eyes and think about the best thing that ever happened to you. Get all the details going and come up with one word to describe it.

Just notice that you went from feeling ______________ to ________________ in less than three minutes, through the power of your own mind. No one was there goading you. You did it in your own mind.

You have the POWER to change your thoughts and your feelings literally at will. Think about that.

There is a different way

If you don’t know which direction to go; and, you’re tired of being at the whim and fancy of your emotional nature, try these ideas out. They will take a concerted effort over time, so give yourself three or four months to reap the benefits of your hard work.

We can become frustrated when we always seem to be dished up the same old same old. We don’t know how to change it, so we just trudge along day to day. Believe me, I know.

I was very fortunate to meet a variety of people who shared their techniques and wisdom with me. In part, this contributed in a very real way to being Made Whole again. I want to share these with you.

Intention Writing

Place your new intention in between these two points, in positive, right now, I am terms, as if you already have what you desire. Point One: I hold the intention that – state what you desire – Then Point Two say: And so it is.

ie:  “I hold the intention that I am enough. All I need, to be the most I can be, is within me. And so it is.”

Or,

I hold the intention that the structure of my life is solid. I feel safe and secure in a world that loves and accepts me just as I am. The Universe supports every fibre of my being. And so it is.

Or,

“I hold the intention that my career path affords me the opportunity to interact with and motivate people in a fun and exciting way. It fuels me and gives me energy. I have the financial freedom and personal flexibility to enjoy my life. My work environment is positive. I am in tune with the flow of the Universe. And so it is.”

NOW is your opportunity to write out a plan of action ie:

1. Create a contact list of people who may be interested in the service you have.

2. Write an introduction script to say when you call them, or better yet, meet with them.

3. Introduce yourself and your business in layman’s terms. Have some examples of how your company can help.

The feelings cultivated in this situation are: anticipation, excitement, desire to succeed, gratitude for your many blessings, and so on. “Faith without works is dead.” Intentions are barren if there is nothing to fuel them. Your enthusiasm will fuel your intentions.

Or,

I hold the intention that my body has restored itself to its natural state of vibrant health. I make nutritious food choices. I am full of energy, and love to move my body. I am at my ideal weight. And so it is.

The plan of action includes:

1. Making healthy food choices of nutrient-dense items that will support one’s intention.

2. Moving our body more in order to use the stored fuel.

3. Keeping our life in balance in other ways to support our body.

The feelings are: desire to be at our ideal weight, which is quite different from an obsession with calories or exercise; hope that we’ll achieve our goals; peace in knowing we’re finally on the path we want to be on and in control of your eating habits, and so on. You get the picture.

Stilling the mind

Mindfulness

Being in the now and staying in the now. NOW = ‘Notice Our Whereabouts’. Giving our full attention to whatever we are doing in that moment. Examples – child being so absorbed in the NOW that he/she doesn’t hear you calling them to come inside for ice cream. Kids are great at filtering out distractions and are wonderful human be-ings instead of do-ings. Learn again how to be this way in the world. Meditation can help.

Time is not a condition under which we live rather it is a mode in which we think. If we can live in the ever-present moment, then there is no past or future, only the eternal now. In this now, we can love, we can create, and we can be.

If you begin to feel anger or resentment, confusion or fear, you can stop, unplug, and breathe. As you begin to feel more on an even keel, you can examine your feelings/emotions in a more levelheaded way. We need to realize we are not our feelings/emotions. An affirmation will brings us back to the ‘now’. So will a mantra, focusing on your breathing, or taking a body break and stretching out your limbs and torso.

A few experiments to try:

The brain likes to think. Stop now and become settled. Ask yourself this question, “I wonder what my next thought will be?” Say to yourself, “I wonder what my next feeling will be?” Who is doing the asking? It is the ‘I AM’, that higher self of ours, who is querying. We are more than your thoughts and feelings.

Know that we are not our thoughts, we are not our feelings, and we are definitely not our pain. All of these are like waves on the ocean. They come in and they go. Crest and recede. It’s the thoughts, feelings, and sensations that we decide to give safe harbour to that may cause us a problem.

I hope these thoughts help you in some way to smooth out the rough edges of your life, so that you can restructure it to your way of liking.
